Ready for Chris's help?
Request attorney help. If you're not a member yet, you'll pick a plan first. Pathfinder's quarterly and yearly plans get the firm's lowest prices.
Submitting a request does not establish an attorney-client relationship or protect a filing deadline.
How it works for you
Four common situations, start to finish. Pathfinder is Claim Raven's software; Chris is a separate hire, and the firm confirms every fee before work starts.
VA denied my claim and I want to appeal.
Join Pathfinder on the quarterly plan ($139).
Hire Chris for Claim Advisor + File Continuity ($149). Once he represents you, he can pull your claims file (C-file) from VBMS.
Upload that copy to Claim Raven. Pathfinder reads your whole C-file and builds your Strategy Brief: what VA had, what's missing and which evidence matters.
Hire Chris for the appeal strategy. Your Pathfinder work saves him time, so the firm charges $299 instead of $749.
You pay$587
I'm filing my first claim.
Join Pathfinder on the monthly plan ($59). It walks you through your claim and builds your Strategy Brief.
Build your claim package in Claim Raven.
Ask Chris to review the package before you file. VA rules don't let attorneys charge for help before VA's first decision, so there's no attorney fee if he takes it.
You file the claim with VA. If VA denies it later, Chris can help with the appeal.
You pay$59
My rating or my effective date looks wrong.
Join Pathfinder on the quarterly plan ($139). Your C-file read shows what VA used and the dates it relied on.
Hire Chris for a Rating & Effective-Date Audit ($249). He checks whether the percentage and the start date of your payments are right.
If it's worth appealing, hire him for a Higher-Level Review at the firm's Pathfinder price ($499 instead of $899).
You pay$887
I want Chris to take my whole case.
Join Pathfinder on the quarterly or yearly plan, and send Chris your request.
If he accepts, you sign his fee agreement for full representation: 15% of past-due benefits for Pathfinder members, instead of 20%. He's paid only if you win.
On $30,000 of back pay, that's $4,500 instead of $6,000.
Attorney fee on $30,000 back pay$4,500

Chris BurnetteU.S. Air Force veteran · VA-accredited attorney
Chris can see the file VA sees.
Chris Burnette is a U.S. Air Force veteran, VA-accredited attorney, and founder of the Law Office of D.C. Burnette, PLLC.
That accreditation means once he represents you, he can open your claims file in the Veterans Benefits Management System (VBMS), the system VA uses to process claims. Coaching companies that are not accredited cannot.
When records help is part of the work you hire him for, you can choose to bring that copy into Claim Raven, then search it, chart it and build your claim from it.
This pilot and its prices are only for Claim Raven members.
Submitting a request does not establish an attorney-client relationship or protect a filing deadline.
About Attorney Services
Donald C. Burnette is a VA-accredited attorney and owner of the Law Office of D.C. Burnette, PLLC, an independent law firm. Attorney services are provided by the law firm, not Claim Raven. Veterans may choose any attorney or representative, and using Claim Raven does not require hiring the firm.
Requesting attorney assistance does not establish an attorney-client relationship. All legal services are subject to the firm's review, acceptance, and a separate engagement agreement.

Claim Raven competes with these companies. These offers have different scopes. This compares published prices and the kind of help each one sells.
VetClaims.ai: $1,250 paid in full, or $1,500 on the payment plan. The plan is three automatic $500 payments, $250 (20 percent) more than paying in full. It is not a percentage of back pay. Its terms say it is not VA-accredited and does not represent you or file for you. You submit your own documents. Pricing and service details for VetClaims.ai (opens in a new tab)
VETCOMM: $1,497 upfront. Three payments total $2,100; six payments total $2,400, $903 (about 60 percent) more than paying upfront. Includes a course and workbook. Its public disclaimer says it is not VA-accredited and does not contact VA for clients. It sells coaching and education, not an attorney engagement. The pilot is open to paying Claim Raven subscribers, including Pathfinder members. We’re starting with a small member group so we can learn what works before opening it more widely.
Do I need Pathfinder to get attorney help?
No. Any paying Claim Raven member can request a service. Pathfinder members on the quarterly or yearly plan get the firm's lowest pilot rates, where completed Pathfinder work saves the attorney time.
Will Chris take a percentage of my back pay?
The scoped services use agreed fees, with no percentage of back pay. Full representation is a separate option: 20% contingency, or 15% for qualifying Pathfinder matters. That separate agreement applies to qualifying past-due benefits, not future monthly payments.
How are the attorney fees set?
Chris confirms the service and fee with you before work starts. You pay the firm directly for legal services, separately from your Claim Raven membership.
What does a package review cover?
The attorney reviews the package you submit as it stands. This does not include a separate review of your entire C-file, all medical records, prior decisions or DBQs outside that package. Ask the firm about a broader review if you need one.
Can Chris get my VA records?
As a VA-accredited attorney, Chris can access represented clients’ claims files through VA’s Veterans Benefits Management System (VBMS), with the required appointment and system authorization. Agreed records assistance depends on the legal work accepted. You can choose to use a copy in Claim Raven.
Does requesting help hire an attorney or share my documents?
Asking a question or requesting help does not hire an attorney. The firm checks fit and agrees on the work and fee with you in writing. Clicking through does not share your Claim Raven documents. The firm handles its legal-service payment directly.
What if I have a filing deadline?
An inquiry does not extend a VA deadline or make the firm responsible for it. Tell the firm about any deadline immediately and continue protecting it unless the firm has expressly agreed to handle it.
Tell Chris what you need help with.
Click Request attorney help. If you're not a member yet, pick a plan first.
Fill out Chris's intake form. It takes a few minutes.
The firm checks fit, then agrees on the work and the fee with you before anything starts.
Submitting a request does not establish an attorney-client relationship or protect a filing deadline.
Important Information About Attorney Services
Independent Services. Claim Raven and the Law Office of D.C. Burnette, PLLC are separate, independent businesses. Claim Raven provides its own technology and services. The law firm independently provides legal advice and representation. Neither business controls the other's professional decisions, services, or pricing.
Your Choice. You do not need to hire an attorney to use Claim Raven. You may choose any qualified attorney or accredited representative, or pursue your VA claim on your own.
Attorney-Client Relationship. Visiting this page, using Claim Raven, or requesting attorney assistance does not automatically make you a client of the law firm. The firm must review your request, check for conflicts of interest, agree to accept the work, and confirm the terms of representation. Please do not send sensitive or confidential information through general inquiry forms.
Fees and Services. Listed attorney fees are set independently by the law firm and may change for future engagements. Services, eligibility, and final fees are confirmed before engagement. Some services involve a flat fee for a specific task; others may involve continuing representation under a separate agreement. Attorney fees for VA benefits matters are subject to applicable federal law.
Your Records and Privacy. Using Claim Raven does not automatically authorize the law firm to access your VA records. Sharing records between Claim Raven and the law firm requires appropriate authorization and consent. Information you provide to Claim Raven is governed by Claim Raven's applicable privacy terms; information provided to the law firm is handled under its separate confidentiality and privacy obligations.
Deadlines and Results. Requesting attorney assistance does not extend or protect a VA filing deadline. Until the firm accepts responsibility for a specific matter, you remain responsible for meeting applicable deadlines. No particular VA decision, rating, or benefit amount is guaranteed.
