Check your nexus readiness

This check uses your answers to identify what is present, what may be missing, and what only a clinician can decide. It does not require an account or an upload, and it does not produce a draft.

How it works

1. Pick the condition and the theory. Direct, secondary to a service-connected condition, or aggravation. If a presumption may cover you, check that before asking for an opinion.
2. Add what you have. Your timeline and the records you choose to provide, with the date for every record the draft cites.
3. Take the packet to your clinician. They review, edit, strike, and sign, or decline. Their judgment, their name.

What is in the draft

• Records reviewed, with dates
• Current diagnosis, as the record states it
• The in-service event, exposure, or service-connected condition
• The theory of connection, with aggravation kept separate from causation
• The medical rationale, verified literature, and contrary studies
• A response to a prior VA examiner's opinion when one is supplied
• A proposed opinion marked for the clinician's independent judgment
• A blank clinician attestation block

Common questions

Does Raven Nexus write my nexus letter?

It writes a draft for your clinician. Your clinician reviews it, changes what they disagree with, and signs only what they believe. Until they do, it is a draft, not medical evidence.

Do I always need a nexus letter?

No. Presumptive conditions do not require one, and some claims are about rating level, not connection. The readiness check starts with that distinction.

Where do the numbers come from?

From 49,876 distinct decided Board appeals, analyzed one condition record at a time. Every percentage on this page shows its sample size. They are historical associations, not predictions about a claim.

Is my medical information stored?

This readiness check does not ask for an upload. Raven Nexus never sends anything to VA or another person unless you send it.
