I am a very sick veteran of Camp Lejeune contamination. I have been fighting with the VA for my hard-earned benefits for years. The VA just does not want to be helpful and responsive to the plight of Lejeune veterans. After spending a few years of fighting and getting a couple of my smaller claims approved to the 20 percent level, I ran into major roadblocks with my larger (and more important) cancer related claims, so I signed on with Heidi. My wife and I were drawn to the fact that Heidi brings both a legal mind to this fight and a medical mind, given her training and experience. We knew that Lejeune claims can be quite complicated from a medical standpoint and Heidi's well-rounded medical/legal background would undoubtedly be more effective than just any-old-lawyer. Well, that logic must have been sound on our part, as Heidi managed to get me from my measly 20 percent rating to 100 P&T with the addition of SMC-S. Attorney Hautala is Amazing! Her experience as a Veteran, a RN and working at the VA is valuable.
