The Claim Journal stores user-entered notes for organization. Keep dates and facts sourced, avoid unnecessary sensitive details, and do not treat a journal entry as a VA filing, medical record, or official receipt.
Overview
A dashboard tool does not make the VA decision Calculators, associations, notes, estimates, and reminders are educational or organizational. They do not establish eligibility, rating, payment, causation, deadline, filing, receipt, status, or outcome.
Use Claim Notes / Journal with a reviewable workflow
Confirm the input source Use the actual rating, notice date, record, or user-entered fact that applies to the tool. The display starts from a known input. Read the displayed assumptions Check source date, scope, exclusions, and whether the value is an estimate or user-entered reminder. A limit is not hidden behind the result. Verify outside the widget Use VA.gov, the complete notice, current rates, or a qualified source before consequential action. The tool does not become official authority. Preserve proof separately Keep the notice, submitted packet, receipt, or authoritative record outside a dashboard note or reminder. Organization remains separate from filing proof. If the product and source do not match A result, status, date, label, or draft conflicts with the source record Reopen the complete source rather than a screenshot or excerpt Confirm the selected account, workspace, document, condition, and date range Look for a partial, stale, failed, generated, or user-entered label Correct or discard the product output instead of changing the source to fit it Use the complete source and current official instructions for consequential action. Report a product defect with synthetic or irreversibly redacted details only. For product help, describe the route, visible state, and expected behavior without attaching private records, credentials, or identifying claim details.
