Keep dates connected to their records
Add a date from a saved original to Timeline, inspect its source and keep personal date corrections separate from the PDF.
Overview
Timeline helps you read events in order. A date added from Documents can retain a link to the original it came from.
Add a record date
Dated events in Timeline Timeline with two Migraines symptom log events on September 9 and September 14, plus event and workspace filters. Sample Timeline with two saved symptom entries. A linked document date is a separate kind of event. Show and Workspace narrow the events displayed. Each symptom event carries its date and a Your symptom log source label. Open the saved original in Documents and check the date in the record. Open the saved original in Documents and check the date in the record. In the document’s Timeline section, select Add a date and choose a linked workspace. If none is available, link the original to a workspace first. Enter the date, a useful event title and the appropriate type Add a note if the date needs context. Select Add to timeline After Date added appears, use View on timeline. Adding a date does not change or analyze the PDF. Choose the date deliberately; this action does not extract every date in a record automatically.
Read the event and source
Open Timeline and select the event. Read its date and details, then open the linked original to check the supporting record. Keep the event title specific enough to distinguish an appointment from a document being created or received. Use the available correction control if your entry needs a different date or explanation. The linked-record correction retains the first date entered. It does not move the event to another person's source.
Organize and discuss events
Categories help organize the history. Removing a custom category preserves its events and source links. Ask Raven from an event carries the selected event and available bounded context; it does not mean the complete original has been supplied. Save the event or correction before leaving and reopen it to check the result. Unlinking or deleting an original can remove its linked date and correction. Keep the original and its links when you still need that connection.
If you cannot continue
If you cannot continue A record date cannot be added or found Make sure the original is saved and linked to the intended workspace. Check the Show and Workspace filters in Timeline. Add the original to a workspace before using Add a date. If the date list reports a load error, use Try again. Wait for Date added before following View on timeline. For product help, describe the page, the message shown and what you were trying to do. Keep private records and account details out of screenshots.
