- The form may approve you right away or ask you to upload a document. AT&T gives no review time, and the discount starts within three bill cycles after activation and confirmation.
- At the register
- Store sign-up is offered, but AT&T's document list does not include the VA ID card or the VA health card. A driver's license with a veteran designation is on the list.

- Call 855-830-7190, visit an AT&T store, or use the form in a computer browser.

The cheapest way to buy AT&T as a veteran
The military discount is not always the lowest price. Compare it with these before you buy.
A single Value 2.0 line starts at $60 a month before discounts. With the $10 AutoPay and paperless bill credit for a bank account, the line is $50, and 10 percent off that saves $5 a month, or $60 a year. Premium 2.0 doubles the rate to 20 percent, so compare its higher plan price against the larger discount before you upgrade.
The percentage comes off after multi-line, AutoPay, paperless billing and other plan discounts. AT&T says the military discount may not combine with other offers, credits or discounts.
No exchange route to this AT&T service discount was confirmed.
No dated seasonal military rate is stated. Device promotions on the military page carry their own terms and change often.

If the discount does not work
The discount is not on the bill yet
AT&T says it starts within three bill cycles after activation and eligibility confirmation. Check again after the third bill before calling.
The form asks for a document and a VA card is all you have
AT&T's list names a recent paystub, a DD214, NGB Form 22 or 22A, or a driver's license with a veteran designation. Upload one of those instead.
The spouse of a veteran was turned down
The terms exclude spouses of veterans. The veteran can qualify as the primary account owner, and family lines on that account then get the rate.
You are on Elite 2.0 and see no discount
Elite 2.0 is excluded. Value 2.0, Extra 2.0, Premium 2.0 and older unlimited plans qualify.
The discount stopped after about a year
Eligibility is rechecked every year. Submit your proof again through the military form or a store.

Questions about the AT&T military discount
Does AT&T give veterans a military discount?
Yes. Veterans qualify with a DD214 showing honorable discharge, NGB Form 22 or 22A, or a driver's license with a veteran designation. Retired veterans are named too.
Is it 20 percent on every AT&T plan?
No. Smartphone lines get 10 percent on Value 2.0, 15 percent on Extra 2.0 and 20 percent on Premium 2.0. Elite 2.0 is excluded, and tablet, wearable and similar device lines get 20 percent.
Can the spouse of a veteran get the AT&T discount?
Not on their own. Spouses of active-duty members qualify, but spouses of veterans do not. A spouse can still benefit as a line on the veteran's account.
Does a VA ID card work as proof?
AT&T's document list does not include it. Use a DD214, NGB Form 22 or 22A, or a driver's license with a veteran designation.
Do I have to renew the AT&T military discount?
Yes. AT&T rechecks eligibility every year, so keep your proof handy.
