Bay Area Legal Services provides an extremely valuable service to residents of Hillsborough County who may not otherwise be able to afford legal assistance. The staff members are compassionate, patient, and understanding, which is especially important when someone is already feeling worried or overwhelmed by a legal problem. They take the time to listen, explain the available options in understandable language, and help point people in the right direction. It is reassuring to know that an organization like this exists to assist seniors, families, veterans, and other members of the community during difficult situations. Legal problems can be frightening and confusing, but being treated with kindness and respect makes a tremendous difference. I truly appreciate the important work Bay Area Legal Services does and the hope and guidance it provides to people throughout Hillsborough County. This is an outstanding community resource that deserves recognition and support.

I got a call yesterday that I was approved and to call back today for an appointment. The women who answered the phone was so incredibly rude. I was asking her basic questions and she either couldn't answer them or sounded like it was causing her pain to do so. After asking a couple questions and catching her in a lie, I pointed it out and she HUNG UP ON ME. This is after I waited over 30 minutes on hold just to talk to her. Completely unacceptable. So whoever was working August 20th doing scheduling needs to be retrained
Place is a joke ... waited 2 weeks for a phone call. Finally lawyer called and was told I would receive a call back and instead received a call back my case was denied by them for no apparent reasoning.
I was really hoping for help. After reading the reviews, I too believe they are just fishing for funds after my experience. Don’t get your hopes up. They get their funding, you get no help.
After speaking with a rep they were of no help whatsoever. Why have a legal aid department if they can’t help with legal questions!
