Arizona’s $1.95 million VetLink settlement includes $1.2 million for restitution. What comes next?

The headline settlement amount and the money available for consumer restitution are different figures in Arizona’s case involving White Tanks Group LLC, doing business as VetLink Solutions, and its principals.

The Attorney General’s May 21, 2026 announcement described a $1.95 million resolution: $1.2 million in restitution, $700,000 in civil penalties and $50,000 in attorneys’ fees and costs. The AG’s settlement page says a consent judgment was entered in June and that the company paid $1.2 million into a consumer restitution fund. It describes eligibility tied to consulting fees paid for disability-claim assistance between January 2019 and March 13, 2024. The case resolved the state’s allegations about misleading claims-related services and improper charges. Those allegations should be attributed to the state. This article does not assert misconduct by a different current operator using a similar business name.

The deadline has passed; the published payment window is still ahead

As of September 11, the official pages continued to list September 10, 2026 as the deadline for an electronic claim or postmarked paper claim. The administrator’s FAQ said distributions were expected to be mailed in late 2026, with timing and distribution decisions at the Attorney General’s discretion. It also said payments would be proportional if the fund were insufficient to provide full restitution for eligible claims. Settlement administrator FAQ.

Those instructions do not establish an extension, a guaranteed payment date, or a full refund for every eligible claimant. They also do not support a claim that payments are overdue on this report’s review date.

Four stages worth distinguishing

A settlement follow-through report should track the money through four separate stages:

The reviewed public material establishes the fund amount. It does not establish the total number of approved claims, dollars issued or dollars ultimately received. An unknown amount is not zero, and the absence of a figure in these pages is not proof the agency lacks it.

Dividing the fund by an unverified customer count would not produce a reliable expected check. Eligibility, approved losses and the distribution terms affect that calculation. Likewise, a mailed check is not necessarily a payment successfully received: returns, address changes and uncashed checks can affect the final result.

The Arizona share deserves separate attention. The AG’s May announcement described restitution for Arizona veterans first, with remaining restitution for veterans in other states.
