- At the register
- GM says ID.me cannot accept a copy of a CAC, and the dealer needs the authorization number.
- Without a smartphone
- GM offers no route around ID.me, and ID.me requires an email address. For help with the GM site, call the automated line at 1-866-902-1902.
- Recently separated
- Veterans verify with a DD214, and GM sets no time limit after separation.

- ID.me asks for your Social Security number and an email address. Black out the license number on the copy you give the dealer.
- Verifying again
- Each authorization number lasts 90 days. You must stay eligible from the start of the purchase through delivery, and GM may audit eligibility later.
