Hyundai checks military status through ID.me, then the dealer.
- Accepted proof
- Hyundai does not list documents. ID.me's help page names the DD214, VIC, VHIC, NGB 22, VA eligibility letters and a state license with a veteran mark for veterans.DD214: your discharge papers from active duty. NGB22: your National Guard separation record. VHIC: the VA health ID card. VIC: the VA's Veteran ID Card.
- How long it takes
- Hyundai says ID.me often takes under three minutes when your documents are ready, and longer when ID.me needs document uploads or a live review.
- At the register
- Hyundai's FAQ says a military ID card alone is not enough because the offer requires online verification.
- Without a smartphone
- Hyundai offers no route outside ID.me. You need an email address, which you then give to the dealer.
- Recently separated
- Hyundai sets no time limit after separation. If ID.me cannot confirm a recent discharge from records, expect the slower document upload or live review step.
- Privacy
- ID.me may ask for document uploads or a live review. Hyundai sends verification problems to ID.me's help center.
- Verifying again
- The current terms run January 7 to December 31, 2026. Check the page for a new program period before buying after that date.
