I don't have an ID.me or Login.gov account. How do I get one?

You don't need ID.me or Login.gov to create or sign in to a Claim Raven email-and-password account. They are the current sign-in providers for VA.gov websites and apps. If you need one for VA.gov, start at VA.gov's official sign-in page and complete the provider's account and identity-verification steps only in the official VA or provider flow. Do not enter or send a VA.gov, ID.me, or Login.gov password, multifactor or recovery code, Social Security number, or identity-document image to Claim Raven or Claim Raven support.

Overview

Claim Raven signup is separate Use a Claim Raven email address and password to create the site account. ID.me or Login.gov is needed for VA.gov online access, not for ordinary Claim Raven signup. Creating either provider account does not automatically connect VA data to Claim Raven.

Start with the task you actually need

To create a Claim Raven account, open Claim Raven's Sign Up tab. You do not need an ID.me or Login.gov account for this step. To manage VA benefits or health care online, start at VA.gov and choose one of its current sign-in providers: Login.gov or ID.me. If you may already have a provider account, try the provider's official recovery path before creating another account under a different email. If a future live Claim Raven VA connection is offered, treat its authorization and permission review as a separate optional decision. A provider account alone grants Claim Raven nothing.

If you need one for VA.gov

Open VA's current account guidance and choose Login.gov or ID.me from VA.gov. VA's live comparison—not Claim Raven—should guide the choice because provider requirements and verification options can change. Then follow the selected provider's account, multifactor authentication, and identity-verification prompts only on the official VA or provider domain. If the provider says an account already exists, use its official recovery path instead of creating duplicates under different emails. After the provider steps finish, open a new VA.gov tab and sign in there to confirm access. For detailed provider comparison, preparation, verification, and recovery guidance, use the VA.gov account setup article linked below. There is no fixed completion time Account creation, identity verification, recovery, video support, in-person verification, and mailed-code paths can take different amounts of time. Follow the current status and instructions shown by VA or the provider instead of relying on a universal estimate.

If an account may already exist or setup stalls

Use VA's common-issues page or the selected provider's official support channel for the step that failed. Login.gov or ID.me owns provider password and multifactor recovery. Claim Raven cannot create, verify, unlock, merge, or recover either account. If official support requests an error report, share only the non-sensitive error code and the failed step. Do not send Claim Raven a password, code, Social Security number, or unredacted identity document.

What this account does not do

It does not create or replace your Claim Raven email-and-password account. It does not automatically authorize Claim Raven or import VA information. It does not file a claim, submit evidence, create an Intent to File, choose a review lane, or prove VA received anything. Choosing not to create one does not change eligibility for VA benefits or health care, although VA says online management requires a current sign-in provider. It should never require entering real credentials into a Claim Raven screen identified as sandbox or demo.
