Getting started

Set up a Claim Raven account, connect VA.gov via Login.gov or ID.me, and learn the basics of using the platform to track and work on your VA disability claim.

How Pathfinder works and what you control

Pathfinder can explain concepts, organize information you provide, and help you review your own work, but you control your facts, evidence, choices, signatures, and submissions.

Is this an official VA website?

Claim Raven is an independent third-party service, not VA or another government agency. A VA data connection, directory listing, or sign-in flow does not make a private app an official or VA-endorsed service.

How do I sign up?

To create a Claim Raven account, use the Claim Raven sign-up page to create an email-and-password account. You can use a free account without connecting a VA.gov account. ID.me and Login.gov are for signing in to VA.gov and, only when a live Claim Raven VA connection is available and you choose it, for the separate VA authorization flow; Claim Raven does not receive those provider passwords. AI document analysis is a separate optional consent choice. Review the Terms and Privacy Policy before creating an account, and never enter real VA credentials in a screen identified as sandbox or demo.

I don't have an ID.me or Login.gov account. How do I get one?

You don't need ID.me or Login.gov to create or sign in to a Claim Raven email-and-password account. They are the current sign-in providers for VA.gov websites and apps. If you need one for VA.gov, start at VA.gov's official sign-in page and complete the provider's account and identity-verification steps only in the official VA or provider flow. Do not enter or send a VA.gov, ID.me, or Login.gov password, multifactor or recovery code, Social Security number, or identity-document image to Claim Raven or Claim Raven support.

Why can't I see my claims after logging in?

Signing in to Claim Raven does not by itself connect your VA.gov data or confirm that all of your VA claims are available here. Check VA.gov's claim-status tool directly for VA's current view of an eligible claim, decision review, or appeal. Claim Raven's checked connection code is configured for VA sandbox and demo use, and a VA Data Bridge import is only a snapshot you chose to import. When a live, authorized connection is available, Claim Raven can show only the claim information VA returns for the permissions you approved. If VA.gov does not show an expected claim or you cannot sign in, use VA's official support options; do not send Claim Raven passwords, multifactor codes, claim records, identifiers, or unredacted screenshots.

Can I use Claim Raven on my phone?

You can open Claim Raven's website in a phone browser; there is no Claim Raven app-install or download step in this web flow. The layout includes mobile breakpoints, but feature availability can depend on the page, device, browser, network, and permissions. Use a personal, up-to-date device for sensitive work, avoid uploading or downloading records on a shared device when possible, and sign out when you finish. VA Data Bridge is an important exception: its bookmarklet transfer requires a bookmarks bar and must be completed on a desktop or laptop.

Can I use Claim Raven if I'm still on active duty?

Yes. Active-duty service members and members of the Guard or Reserve can use Claim Raven's educational, records, statement, transition, and Pathfinder tools. VA-connected claim information appears only when supported data exists; current VA rules control pre-discharge filing.

Is Claim Raven a veteran-owned company?

Claim Raven is veteran-founded and the current About page describes the founder's service and lived claims experience. That public product statement is not a government supplier certification; request current company documentation if a formal ownership certification matters to a purchasing or partnership decision.

Can my VSO or family member see my Claim Raven account?

No. A VSO, representative, family member, or other supporter does not automatically see your Claim Raven veteran account, and you should not give anyone your Claim Raven, VA.gov, Login.gov, or ID.me password or security code. A VA appointment and Claim Raven access are separate. If Claim Raven shows a current representative invitation, sign in to your own account, verify who sent it, and choose only the listed information you want to share; that limited connection may not be available in every environment and does not expose the rest of your account. Family and other supporters can contribute through a specific buddy-letter invitation or receive a copy you intentionally export without using your login.

Quick start: get up and running

Find the VA connection card in your Profile, read the environment notice, and use the exact Connect with Login.gov / ID.me control only when the notice says real sign-in is enabled.

VA.gov account setup

Use Login.gov or ID.me for VA.gov, start from the official VA sign-in page, secure and verify the account, and never enter passwords, multifactor codes, Social Security numbers, or identity documents into Pathfinder.

Work with VA-accredited help by choice

VA does not automatically assign a representative. If you choose help, verify current accreditation, understand who the form appoints, read any fee agreement, and never share VA.gov credentials or multifactor codes.

Use current official sources when forms and processes change

Start with the complete notice or task tied to the claim, then verify the current VA form page, instructions, route, and exact governing source. Preserve what you used, when you checked it, and the receipt for any action taken.
