Quick start: get up and running

Find the VA connection card in your Profile, read the environment notice, and use the exact Connect with Login.gov / ID.me control only when the notice says real sign-in is enabled.

Overview

To connect your VA account, sign in to Claim Raven, open Dashboard, and select Profile. Find the card titled Connect Your VA Account. Read the notice on that card before you continue, then use the button labeled Connect with Login.gov / ID.me only when the notice says real customer sign-in is enabled. Claim Raven opens a separate authorization window; it should not ask you to type your VA.gov password into the Claim Raven page. Follow the environment notice before you continue The current source card includes a Sandbox Demo Mode notice that says real Login.gov or ID.me credentials will not work. If you see that notice, stop and do not enter real credentials. This guide helps you identify the controls but does not override the notice shown in the product. Proceed with a real sign-in only when Claim Raven explicitly says customer authorization is enabled.

Before you start

Sign in to your own Claim Raven account before opening the Profile section. Use a Login.gov or ID.me account that you already use to sign in to VA.gov. If you need an account, use the official VA.gov account-creation instructions linked below. Allow pop-ups for claimraven.com so the separate VA authorization window can open. Keep passwords, verification codes, Social Security numbers, VA file numbers, and claim documents out of support email and chat messages.

Connect from your Profile

Open Dashboard After signing in to Claim Raven, open Dashboard from the main navigation. The Dashboard loads with tabs for Overview, Claims, Appeals, and Profile. Select Profile Choose Profile to open the account and VA connection section. You can see the Connect Your VA Account card when no current VA connection is available. Read the card and its environment notice Confirm the exact card title and read every notice immediately above the connection benefits. The notice controls whether real credentials are appropriate in that environment. You know whether to continue or stop before opening an authorization window. Open the authorization window only when permitted If the card says real customer sign-in is enabled, select Connect with Login.gov / ID.me. If it says Sandbox Demo Mode, stop and do not use real credentials. A separate VA authorization window opens when the connection flow is available. Review and authorize on the provider page Use the Login.gov or ID.me option presented by the VA sign-in flow. Review the access request before approving it. Enter credentials only on the expected provider page, not in Claim Raven support or an article form. The authorization window returns you to Claim Raven after the provider completes the request. Check the connection state Return to Profile and review the status shown on the VA account card. A connected account can show available claims, ratings, and service history. Appeal availability can differ because VA third-party access is not always available. The card shows whether the connection is complete, partial, or still disconnected without promising a sync time. Troubleshooting the VA connection

Troubleshooting the VA connection The authorization window does not open Check whether your browser blocked a pop-up from claimraven.com. Allow the pop-up for this site, then return to Profile and select the connection button once more. A separate authorization window should open. If it still does not open, contact support with your browser name and the time of the attempt, but do not send credentials or claim documents. The card says Sandbox Demo Mode Do not enter a real Login.gov or ID.me username, password, or verification code. Confirm that you are on the expected Claim Raven domain and read the complete notice. Stop at the card. The demo notice means the visible flow is not a customer authorization path. Contact support for environment status without sharing sensitive information. The window closes but Profile still shows disconnected Return to Profile and read any error shown on the card or in a notification. Confirm that the provider flow was completed rather than canceled. Retry once after confirming pop-ups and cookies are allowed for the authorization flow. If the status remains disconnected, contact support with the visible error text. Do not send screenshots that contain personal VA information unless support provides an approved secure path. The account is connected but expected claims are not visible Review whether the card says complete or partial connection. Use Sync VA data from Profile when that control is available. Compare the available Claim Raven data with VA.gov without assuming every VA record is exposed through the same third-party API. Use the related claims-not-showing article and contact support if the mismatch continues. Keep real records and identifiers out of ordinary email. Visit Get support if a safe retry does not resolve the problem.
